Creating the perfect charcuterie board is simple. Start with a few of your favorite meat and cheese selections. Then, add freshness and color with fruits and vegetables. Finish it all off with savory condiments and fresh herbs. Voila! Without further ado, here’s a quick guide on how to create an impressive charcuterie board.
How to Create a Charcuterie Board
Step One: Meat and cheese
We used our Simply Chipotle Cheddar, Simply Creamy Gouda, Simply Medium Cheddar, and Simply Natural Beef Summer Sausage to create the base of the board. These hearty flavors are the center of each tasty bite. Mix and match your cheeses and meats to your liking! Pick your favorite base flavors to help build out the secondary flavors that will enhance each tasty bite.
Step Two: Fresh and color
This is the fun part! Bring fresh and colorful elements onto your board. We started with our Orchard’s Finest Deluxe Dried Fruit Tray, which contains a variety of colorful and flavorful fruits, to bring some sweetness to the board. Then we added a variety of olives, fresh fruit, and veggies, and deviled eggs to give our board more hearty bites that don’t need to be mixed and matched. The more the better, right? Top it all off with some fresh herbs to add both beautiful color and fragrance to this stunning appetizer.
Step Three: Finishing touches
And last, but not least, it’s time for the finishing touches. We added Simply Sweet & Spicy Relish, Simply Mustard Caviar, Simply Boozy Cherries, and Simply Fig Chutney on the board for a little color and amazing flavor. Serve these condiments with spoons so that guests can try different elements of the board with a variety of toppings. We promise you’ll want to try them all! Feel free to add a little oil and vinegar, and salt and pepper to the mix where you see fit. Fill in the bare spaces with mixed nuts to finish off the presentation and pack it with flavor.
